The Client is one of the major and most innovative telecom operators in the region operating in both fixed and mobile communications as well as being active in the consumer and enterprise segment. In the region, the client is perceived as an innovation leader in all those segments and is known to constantly strive for revenue diversification opportunities.
In the face of rapid changes and the rise of local challengers, the Client asked Arthur D. Little to redesign its approach to innovation starting from top-level strategy to concrete implementation setup and governance. Also, the Client wanted to go beyond in this strategic project and wanted to achieve proof of its new innovation approach by running a PoC of the recommended operating model.
Arthur D. Little closely worked with the Client and defined a strategic as well as highly pragmatic approach to (a) identify the right fields of innovation as well as (b) generate immediate impact in collaboration with Match-Maker Ventures: the Corp-Up Engine. By focusing on the innovation power of external partners (startups and scaleups), a best-of-breed approach was developed and concrete search-fields were identified. These were validated and filled with concrete collaboration opportunities by Match-Maker Ventures. The Client was guided through the entire collaboration process, design of their value proposition/offering towards the scale-ups, and today three concrete projects are in the implementation phase.
The joint strategic project between Arthur D. Little and Match-Maker Ventures has delivered the Client promising results: a fast, efficient and risk-allowing approach to venture into new domains as well as to challenge the status quo of how today’s business is being delivered. Additionally, the three identified collaboration opportunities are enabling the client to address new growth opportunities in a variety of domains: From optimizing communication, to ventures into the smart home to TV data analytics.
